Most divers wish at some point in their diving adventures to dive with Manta Rays. Rays are members of the shark family and feed by filtering zooplankton from the water by swimming with their mouths open, two cephalic fins either side of the head channel the food into the mouth. The one in the video was not feeding however, but was visiting a cleaning station, where small cleaner wrasse pick parasites and loose skin from their bodies. Cleaning stations are great places to watch mantas.
We watched them whilst diving from the Blue Voyager in the southern atolls of the Maldives at a site called Kurali in Meemu Atoll. Hope you enjoy 🙂

Glide; gentle giant.
Our pelagic voyager.
We’re wide mouthed in awe.
