Connections

Most people will be aware of the Gaia paradigm.  This was a theory proposed by James Lovelock in the 1960’s.  The theory proposed that all living organisms and non-living systems on Earth are connected and self-regulating.  It has been modified since, but remains an important plank for both the environmental movement and many scientific disciplines & was the inspiration for my latest piece.

If we affect one part of the system we have an effect on the whole.

The photo for this post was taken at Norwick in Shetland.

CONNECTIONS

Mist and sea converge.

Coalescing; their fusion

swash upon the shore.

We’ve crossed the sand you and I,

leaving footprints in the sky.
